Economics 101: Prices are not set by what something costs to produce, but rather by what the market is willing to pay for it. If sales drop, so will the price.

How about a small price increase with a couple options tossed in for good measure... No??

mostly x cars which are built here in Amurica.
Only the X5 is built in South Carolina.
I thought the X3/4/5/6 were all built in South Carolina?
All the X and Z lines are build in SC

And make the huge gulf between the US (where BMW's are cheap), and the rest of the world even bigger?
Sounds just fine to me. =)

Yeah, the M4 is a great car. I do love it, but the new c63 seems like it may take the small sedan/coupe crown this time. Might pick one up myself.

Be grateful of what u are paying before u see what ppl from other parts of the world are paying. Thats a minor change to me compared how my country charged a BMW.

I did once, bought an ATS, the best 3 series competitor out there. Sadly grew to hate that car and got rid of it in a year. Back to BMW. Had my 428 for 10 months now and hardly a complaint.

The advantage is still there...but it's not as great as it once was. Another thing to consider is an individuals decision to purchase will go beyond one you actually get with the money. Some people will buy brand x because they're familiar with it, more comfortable with it - an x-factor that goes beyond what's on a spec sheet. Had a W202 C-Class and it was a pain to work on to put it politely. That alone would make me not want to buy a Mercedes. But that's just me, other people might have other reasons. Also, it's not just BMW cheapening out on standard equipment. I don't know about Cadillac and the ATS, but the C-Class and A4 are also guilty on the standard equipment at least here in Canada (ex. Halogens).

The X1 which is part of the X line is built in Leipzig. My point being to the original quote, of the X cars on the list, only the X5 is built in the US, so it is actually the minority.

Wrong. X1 has never been built in Spartanburg and the Z4 left with the current generation.

The less cars BMW sells, the more they realize people don't like the direction they have taken.

LED headlights(non-adaptive) are standard on the W205 in the states.

The 3 series will receive a facelift. C Class was released later than it. So the gap will be closed this year.

Yes, the only vehicle on the list built in SC is the X5, and yes, the X3/4/5/6 are all built in SC. You're both right.

Luckily I got to see them with my own eyes. But if I'm not mistaken, even though they are assembled here, (including the X5///M) the engines are still built / assembled in Germany, then shipped here. At least that's what I got out of the tour

Yeah, the new BMW interiors are utter crap. Materials are alright but the design feels like a freakin' 25K car.

Remember though, there's been no inflation due to wreckless Fed policies.

Makes me sick the lies that are being told these days.
Bingo!

And we are in a "financial recovery"

Hahahaha

This is stupid, BMWs aren't even on top anymore.

Correct but they're not listed in the OP as rising in price, just the X5 made in the Spartanburg plant and X1 I think made in Leipzig?

EDIT OK Sorry I see this is mentioned on second pages now etc.

It would be interesting to know the actual number of people who lease versus buying BMW's today. That along with the barrage of incentives and specials BMW runs almost all year long makes these increases a moot point. Just my opinion as I know some people get very upset over these price increases.

amen. i am glad that someone else feels that F30 interior is cheap. The bottom door panels, behind the seat plastic covers and other small details just feel cheap. msport F30 looks good but the minute you get inside everything you touch start to feel like a let down. look but dont touch . After getting back into my E90 I felt like it was an upgrade.
as far as benzo goes, for sure it looks great. havent sat inside so not sure about the feel.
