Potential issues on using spacers?
Hey guys, I am about to install coilovers for my z4 but my width of my wheels is somehow affecting the ability to lower my car.
As I wouldn't want my wheels to come in contact with the suspension, I have been advised by my workshop to place spacers. The kind with grooves for the wheel hub to catch on; that's what my workshop told me what kind of spacers they would be using. This is my first time doing such an operation, I was hoping for some advice on spacers. Whether it's recommended or dangerous in any sense. Thanks |

i dont know about the Z4, but on my audi i ran 22mm and 15mm spacers with no problems.
i raced the car at the drag strip, auto-x's, and drove it daily with no issues at all. they are safe, i wouldnt worry about it.

I see, thanks for the information. I have heard some sketchy horror stories about spacers but I can't seem to remember where I heard them from.
I have decided to give the green light for the spacers to be put up. I think I shall see if any troubles arises after driving for a week... |
