Launch control gone?

I have a 2014 35i with DCT. I can't seem to get launch control to work and it is not in the manual. Did they do away with launch control in the newer models?
This car is MUCH slower than my 335i with the same engine. I don't even think Z4s can spin the wheels anymore ha, pretty sad, there's hella turbo lag until 4000rpm or so.

Launch Control

It's on page 58 of my 2010 Owners Manual and page 68 of yours (attached). While my Z4 is pretty quick I do agree I am still getting used to having the amount of lag.

Awesome! Good to know. And dumb question, does your car kind of lunge a little while your applying throttle? I'm scared I'm just going to blow the transmission up, it seems like it's just fighting against my brakes.

For me it is the DCT that is slower to respond to initial throttle... at least slower than a manual or even traditional auto. I have had this engine in at least a half dozen cars already, and I can't imagine that it would be different in the Z4 than all of the others...

For the record my manual 2011 Z4 was a barnstormer off the line.

When not in Sport+ in Manual Mode this is true.

Sport or Sport+ is not just for tightening up on the dampeners but it also signals the DCT to operate faster with high torque and clamping force

Seem like the skid control program varies somewhat, perhaps by model year. I have to go to sport + just to accelerate out onto the highway from a side road if the steering wheel is being turned. It still kills a lot of the power. I wish it would just let me deal with the wheel spin.
Someday I am going to find a paved area where I can turn it off completely and drift it a little to see what happens. The DSC can save your butt however I have had cars with no nannies whatsoever and I just had to manage the H.P.
