US Based Fitted Luggage Vendor
I am working with a vendor based in the US on a fitted luggage set for the E89 Z4. It will likely be a soft-sided set and less costly than the German luggage discussed in another thread. As soon as it is available I will post a price as they will give a forum discount. I expect the price to be around $150
Happy Holidays to everyone.

Have not heard anything so I will give them a shout and see how the production is going.

Here is the answer I received:
Thanks Randall for your message. We have 6 new products coming in the next couple of months, including the z4 luggage. They should be out around April. If you've signed up to our Facebook page or on our email list, you'll be the first to know.

I finally convinced this vendor, http://www.roadtripluggage.com/servlet/StoreFront, to offer a set of fitted luggage for the new Z4. He needs 50 buyers in order to get them manufactured. I am waiting on more information and description but they will likely be similar to other sets for similar size cars. The price will be only $99 for the set. Please spread the word and let's see if we can scare up enough buyers to make this work. If someone can set up an order thread that would be great or you can email me at:
rmorinATwvdsl.net. I will also post on the Z4 bimmerfest forum.

This link, http://www.roadtripluggage.com/servl...Luggage/Detail, provides details on a set which I hope will be similar to the set for the Z4.

Here is the latest from the vendor:
They would be 2 piece sets. Laid out on the trunk, they would probably look like our MB SLK luggage (check out our site). Since this is special order, you can specify what sort of embroidery you want on the bags. I will also need a 50% down payment before we start production. Regards, Jerome

I don't think it will as I contacted them again after the holidays. They replied to say that not enough E89 Z4s are being sold to warrant developing a specific set of custom fitted luggage.
I have found that I can fit a nice medium size suitcase along with a smaller one in the trunk even with the top down. So far this has worked well for me and my wife. I don't plan to invest in a set of fitted luggage as I am already thinking about my next car. It will likely be an Audi or a Benz.

Off Topic: Benz have quality control issues and are not trouble free. Audi has come a long way in the reliability department.

The S5 is one nice machine. Its styling outclasses the 3 series coupe IMHO. If it proves to be reliable it could well be my next car. I really like my Z4 and may keep it IF it proves to be reliable. So far, so good but it is a 30i not a 35i. Audi really has come a long way and their interiors are top of the heap.

My statement was a bit "shorthand" if you will as I remember your comment a while back that you might go in that direction. So from the perspective, I stated my opinion that I felt MB has it's own set of quality control problems which I feel are rather significant, and that Audi would be a better choice.

I do agree that MB has also had quality issues. Their C series has really come a long way in recent years. The 5 series diesels are also very interesting. If BMW will bring the 530d or 535d to the US I think they would sell very well.
