Wheel Advice
Hello my friends,
I am currently on stock Adaptive M suspension, I am in the market to purchase a new set of wheels and would like to know if I can pull this off. Please let me know of your thoughts. Thanks.... 19x9.0 +22 19x10.0 +22 |

For the front, that's the same situation. An 8.5" rim would be pushing it real close at +22, if not already rubbing. A 9" rim would need at least +35 to make sure it doesn't rub, at least whilst not turning. Not sure what'll happen when you need to make a tight/sharp turn with the wheels turned all the way. For reference, the most common setup on our cars is a 8.5" front with +35 and a 9.5" rear with +33 or +35. This leaves about 10mm on both the front and rear of clearance, so those who want to add 5 or 7mm spacers can do so. |

If it will fit also depends on the tire sizes you will chose. IS 22 with 255/30 R19 will just fit, with not so wide tires (e.g. Hankook). Below you can see pictures from a trial, I've made. I've tried 12mm spacers on my 9,5J 19" IS32 wheels with 255/30 wheels = IS20. I've made the diagonal full compression test, required by the German technical inspection authority. The space between the rear bumper and the fender is very close, when there is full compression: In my opinion, the look of these wide wheels is a bit old school, when the wheels are so wide outside the fender: For me, 9,5J IS27 are the best choice. This size I have at winter wheels with 265/30 R19 and this just fits. At my IS32 summer wheels I will install 5 mm spacers next season, so that they will also have IS27. How IS27 is looking, you can see in this post: http://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=798894 Last edited by nuebbes; 12-05-2013 at 04:01 AM.. |

You're welcome
Do you mean the inner plastic wheel housing? If, yes. But this you already have to do at approx. +35. |

Today I test fitted a set of CE28N 19 x 10.5 +25......I drove on it with no rub at all on M-Suspension. Yes the wheel poked out but it was just a test fit. I now believe i can ride a 9.5 +22 in the rear!!
