Hood Correction/Detail Class

I finally decided I wanted to purchase a machine and all the supplies given the demands of having a black car. Before I purchased anything, I had the infamous Tuscarora Dave over at Detail City come out this past weekend to give me some tips. A really great guy! He spent the whole day teaching me about the different pads, machines, products. We focused on my hood. As some of you may know, my Z came all swirled up from the n/c dealer installed option. Dave eventually went over the entire hood with his Flex. Below is the link if you are interested.

Kief, I have learned the hard way to not even let the dealer wash the car for delivery after service. My standing instructions to my dealership for both BMWs is, "do not wash, clean, or otherwise touch the cars unless it is absolutely necessary for service or warranty." Yes, I am a jerk.

As do I! I also tell them never to wash my cars following service.

The problem occured b/c my local dealer located this car from another dealer out of state. Whether those monsters washed it with a Brillo pad or my local dealer, I'll never know!

I found that my metallic paint is much harder than my E90's jet black... i have zero scratches, zero swirls or DSB hides it extremely well, but I'll probably do something like Kief every 18 months. that's really good work.

no, you are absolutely not a jerk. They washed my car, and I told them never again do I want them to wash it. Horrible is the only way to describe the job they did on the car.
