navigation search not working?

Hi all,
So I picked up my 2nd 35is back in October and barely hit 260 miles total. Anyways I was driving around yesterday and tried to find a restaurant but for some reason the navigation couldn't pull it up. Instead it found locations hundreds of miles away.

Has this happened to you?

Is it possible BMW didn't setup the newest version by mistake?

Garage List
2024 BMW X5 M60  [0.00]
It's too cold to go into the garage and check it out & I don't recall between all the various navigation systems and map apps ... but by any chance, was your last search or destination in another state and did it keep that other state as default when you were searching?

It was same state, a few towns over from my house, less than 15 miles. Funny thing I remember it popping up no problem before. Not one business in that town showed up. It would actually pull up similar names over 200 miles away. At one point I tried looking up after I did a restart. And it still couldn't find the place even if I parked in front!

Yes, I have this "problem" too. (in quotes because I think it is a design limitation of having a static hard drive based system)

I use the google local search on the BMW Remote smart phone app to send to the car instead of trying to search using the POI database that is static on the hard drive

Recall, interesting. Did they reinstall the same version buy fixed or the newest . I googled it and saw videos of the new system with 3D buildings. That was pretty. Oil.

Nick,
It's funny because I never used the BMW Google local search, only the poi search. The google search was incredibly slow for me.

My old car with navi worked fine. I beginning to wonder if my replacement has a less than stellar build quality. Damn shame because my first Z was mint. Absolutely no issues.

I'm talking about the "BMW Apps" functionality, not the Google Local search on the iDrive.

My phone is the one doing the searching, and then the phone is used to send a location to the iDrive
