JB4 performance, something to share

I'm on JB4 map 2, 98 italian gas (93 US), DPs and BMS dual intake. DPs are 3" custom made. I never dynoed my car. According to BMS data, I should be around 370 whp or 420-430 chp. Honestly I have always been looking at these numbers with a bit of scepticism. For sure my car is fast, and much faster than a stock 35i. But... 370 whp? It is really a lot, i thought...
That until yesterday.
I had the opportunity to race a 2012 911 Carrera S (991), brand new (and marvelous)... It comes stock with 400 chp and 1490 kg. The Z435i weights 1600 kg, as reference.
Everything happened in less than 30 second, I guess. We met on the highway @ 150 km/h aprox, I was in 7th gear (DCT). He passed me slowly, than accelerated. Great opportunity: manually downshift to 5th and try to catch him. We remained at the same distance all the time, he couldn't take advantage at all until my speed-limiter (250 km/h) said "game over".... and he disappeared. He was WOT? Impossible to say, but i guess he was, observing how fast desappeared when I should cut.
Summary: NOT BAD AT ALL FOR MY LITTLE BANANA .
Thanks BMS!

Honestly yes. 499 US$ the JB4, 95 US$ the intake and 250 euro the DPs.
For less than 1000 US$ you can switch from the stock 300 chp up to 400 chp inverting aprox. 10 US$ for HP.
Not many other cars allow you to do that. Great N54!

Happy for your love affair with the performance! If you spend another $1500 on a FMIC, Meth injection and a speed delimiter, you won't bother racing on the street anymore (dangerous!) as only track cars will be worthy of your time and attention. Road hazards presented on the highway are not our friends. Play safe javol!

I have JB4 as well. Definitely felt the additional power but a little jerky (or maybe I just couldn't shift properly)
Picked JB4 over ESS as it's half the price, and removable for resale once my lease is up.

Ess is much easier to remove as you just reflash. Not knocking the JB4.

ESS is VIN locked though, no resale value.

Great!! I'll be looking out for em sporty beetles

Did your car take time to adapt to the downpipes? Mine has a little hesitation on Map 2, it goes insane till 120 & then it feels stock.

1) Hesitation? are you talking about turbo lag or something different?

2) Till 120 & then feels stock... What do you mean exactly?

My car went really well since the first time i switch to map 2, having the DPs and intake installed.
No problems at all. Difference from map 1 + stock DPs is remarkable .

Kind of like a cut off where you go from map 2 to stock.

I'm glad its not related to the downpipes. Thanks

I dynoed at 386hp, and 422 torque with JB4 on 50/50 e85. This was a 90F weather, and high humidity. Only mods are jb4 map 5 on 5-23 maps, and dual cone intakes. Car felt incredible. Recently switched to Proceed Rev 3 for some more precise tuning and boost oscillation on higher mixtures of e85. Guessing I will be around 420-430 hp and high 400 torque with the procede still all stock expect intakes!!!!

one more things above you said you race with a 911 and the spped limit cut you off, there is no way to neutralize the 250 km speed limit on the BMW Z4? Or maybe i got it wrong... thanks...

Maps switching with JB4 is on the fly by the audio steering wheel commands. Very easy to do... there are some videos in the net showing it. For what concern the speed delimiter it is not included in the JB4 since it is a piggy back system, but if I do not remember bad you can buy it apart from BMS. A flash system such the ones offered by ESS, Evolve etc. should offer the sped delimiter as standard I guess.
