tranquility, as others have mentioned, you want to get a good tire gauge and keep it in your glove box. You don't want to trust your tires to a compressor air gauge. This one cost me about $15 and it easier to use than the round dial racing style pressure gauge.

I had that one twice and never last long. The battery runs out pretty quick. I decided to go back to the standard cheap one that looks like a pen and the readings pop out and you push it back down to reset.

Yeah, I have a couple of the stick gauges around but have pretty good success with my digital. Maybe I was just lucky and got the only good one out of the lot .

So far I've had mine since about 2006 or 2007 and replaced one set of batteries.

Nitrogen vs. 'air' in tires

Remember that the atmosphere around us [the ‘air’] is already 78% nitrogen and 22% oxygen. If nitrogen is provided free by your garage it is not a bad thing but paying for it is always wasted money. The benefits are not worth the expense.
