Any similar long-term owners out there? Status report thus far?

I own my Z4 35i for 5 years now, 130,000kms/82,000 miles. The only major out-of-pocket issue I had was the lousy fuel injectors (I was running MAJOR mileage or else it would've been covered by warranty), hit w/ $3,xxx bill. The hpfp was covered by warranty. Otherwise, only other issues were a burnt light bulb and a faulty airbag sensor.

To me, it's a pretty decent, reliable car, esp since it's my first German and hearing the stereotypical high cost of ownership (knock on wood).

Anyone else w/ high mileage and what's your feedback so far?

Coming up on 3yrs/28k miles here. Some minor things have come up, and z4 has been in the shop more than my last three 3er combined.

Love the car as a commuter and has been mechanically solid other than the fuel pump/injectors (likely from being a dec 2011 build and using an older gen part). I have gotten to know the bmw line up well from all my service loaners.

Roof adjustment x2, headlight adjustment x3, hpfp + injectors, valve cover gasket leak, oil filter housing leak, tail light connector malfunction

Not sure this is out of line for a low volume German convertible though.

9.9l/100kms, very stable, most was 10.0l; I have a good mix of long highway romps and city driving.

2012 35i, 34K. Only problem was a bad O2 sensor at 10K. Other than that, it's been perfect.

09, 35i, 50k miles, hpfp was replaced under warrenty one time before 10k. Both dct gaskets have been replaced due to leaks more than two years ago. Oilfilter housing is showing signs of a very very slow leak, but not an issue yet. Wastegate has started rattling recently. It stops after the first open/close boost cycle, but comes back after each engine on/off cycle. I think I can adjust it myself when I find the time to do it. Otherwise no major issues. Injectors, coils, roof, headlights, sensors, etc have not failed yet on my car... hpfp also seems fine, although I get the occasional longerish cranks when turning the engine on. Especially if the engine is only partly warmed up from the previous drive.

That's pretty high mileage.

I'm at 42km or ~23,000mi and had some minor issues. Radio was replaced once, roof was adjusted once I think, hpfp, and 2 new 296 wheels.

I bought a set of H&Rs but I haven't put them on. I think I'd like it to sit about an inch lower up front and maybe 0.7" in the rear. I also want to get the Hartge wind blocker. Other than that very happy with the car. Definitely love it and it still turns heads whenever she's out.

Yup, we 30i's seem to be the lucky ones (generally speaking), or so I seem to gather from the boards here. No problems on my 2010 either.... (knock on wood, fingers crossed)
