bug
I have now had to take my new Z4 in for the second time for the same problem. My airbag light and seatbelt light will come on even though I have the seatbelt on. Last time they replaced the upper belt assembly. Not sure what they are going to find this time but I suspect the same thing will be replaced. Anyone else having this problem? If it happens 4 times I will have to use the North Carolina Lemon Law to get a new car or a refund.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully they will fix it this time - faulty sensor most likely?

got it back
Thanks. Got a call from BMW NA which was unexpected. One of their regional technical engineers spoke with the local mechanic. This time they replaced some cable so hopefully that will resolve the issue this time for good. Plus they got it back in 1 day this time instead of 1 week like last time. I am keeping my fingers crossed it works.

I am taking my Z4 into Fields BMW Orlando South for the same problem tomorrow. Is there a technical bulletin on this or something I can point them to to expedite the resolution of the problem?

will get back to you
So far the second fix is holding. I will pull my sheet when I have a chance and let you know what they replaced the second time.

The first time they replaced the upper seal belt left side part
# 72-11-9-137-949 which did not fix the problem long term. The second time they replaced the inertia wiring harness with a repair cable, belt tensioner part # 61-12-6-900-928 Bryan |
