All new cars come with a wind deflector. OEM is a mesh material. Different people like clear plastic or mesh; each has it's pluses and minuses. Clear looks better but bounces wind back into the cabin (read: back of your head). Mesh doesn't bounce air back but some complain that it obscures your view (I don't think so). I have both and use the clear one in warmer weather because I customized it so I like the look.

I do believe it's something the dealer is supposed to install at (before) delivery. If you don't want it, you can tell them not to install it. Mine just simply forgot or didn't know (and I didn't realize until after picking up the car that it came with it).

On a previous sports car, i made a windstop and put it in the normal position behind the seats and saved some cash. It looked just like the factory version, but made of mesh and copper tubing.
Not satisfied, i made another from perspex. Again not satisfied as neither stoped the turbulent air and could see reflections of headlights with oncoming traffic if left in place. The final solution on my previous car was to cut a piece of hardboard into a flat inverted 'T' shape and fit between the headrests forward of the normal position and only high enough to see over the top via rear view mirror.. Not the traditional place for a windstop but far better than the factory designed position, markedly reduce the draught around the neck. Have yet to try this on the Zed. I always find the air curled over the windshield inboard of the windstop, negating its usefullness. |

2014. Each year they include as standard things which used to be options along with a base price rise. For example, comfort access, garage door opener and alarm are now included as well.

Actually, my 2012 came with one as well. Probably as part of one option or the other, not sure.
