Tires are not kept in large quantities anymore, they degrade with age and after the economic downturn the tire manufactures shut down tons of capacity to avoid being stuck with lots of stock. Michelin didn't cut the price of the PS2, in fact its more expensive than the PSS so I wouldn't count on a PSS price cut.

Very nice..Maybe i'll forgo the Cup 2's and get these.

Have to say i've put my MPSS to the absolute limit lately. 38 degree weather in xtrmemly cold, rainy conditions.. Me, my M3 and MPPS have performed flawlessly..Thank God, BMW and Michelin.

I just got another set in today for someone that asked me for assistance. Ordered last Monday.

One person asked for assistance and flaked out on me (i will not be so trusting in future) so I put the set in the F30 classifieds, however believe they are sold tonight.

What size you want?

There are a few of us running SC6. Have been for a while. More everyday.
Can you explain where you are ordering these from and why they are not generally available for purchase? I'm sure there are ways to get these tires in but it seems these were not intended for general sale in the US and that is why I am not sure we can currently compare them to the MPSS.

I won't need tires for a bit (I'm on my winters and still have some tread on my summers).

Price of MPSS already dropped 10%-15% from 2016 in USA.

I feel that probably because they wanted to try and reduce difference in price between MPS4S and SC6 given the SC6 winning reviews and a typical 20% price difference. Otherwise I bet MPSS would have stayed put and MPS4S would be even higher priced.

Interesting enough, MPSS and MPS4S are selling for roughly same price in Europe. Will be interesting to see if the tirerack prices hold when in stock.

As for price drop of MPSS, See below from several months ago. Approximately $1133 yesterday on TireRack

(Shameless plug) For sale @ $850 2k Miles 90% tread left

I order from a dealer. I can only assume that people want things handed to them easy and don't do the work to obtain them. That's what I've picked up from comments aimed at me.

Again, considering they have been available for a year, Audi already moved off MPSS and went to SC6 in USA and there are plenty of RESPECTED THIRD PARTY COMPARISONS from Europe, it's rather comical to say they cannot be compared.

Besides they have DOT number stamped on side of tires. Otherwise most reputable shops would never even mount (major liability issues).

2 BMW dealers refused to install factory xenon Anti-Dazzle headlight housings in my car because they did not have DOT number on them. Ditto a leather dashboard from Europe because of questions about airbag compatibility. BMW NA wouldn't even answer any questions about it because of liability issues.

Neither has questioned mounting and balancing the SC6 on their Hunter Road Master Equipment, knowing that these are rarely seen in USA.

TireRack quoting 3/1. As stated above, will be interesting to see if prices hold in USA as MPSS and MPS4S selling for roughly same price in Europe currently.

You're missing out on better tires. These are a compromise tire.

What I get from all of this is the everyday driver who will never see the track or only go once a season and wants a good performance tire the SC6 is better and for those of us who hit the track 3-4 times a season the PS4S is better.

Yes, my thoughts exactly... why wasn't the result from the SS shown, as well?

Nobody is selling them yet. I wanted it to be time to put the SS into smoky burnout mode.

Cup2's are very different tires than these. Cup2's for the track, these for the street... Before you "forgo the Cup2's" you should consider what you intend to do with your tires. They are not designed for the same purpose.

The Continental SC6 is not available for my STOCK '13 M3 with ZCP. So the next tires that I buy will be the S4.

I wish they would offer the PS4S in fitment for the factory 18" wheels, options are kind of limited in that fitment.

Yes, that's correct.
Euro release is first, then March for N.America.

Price per tire:

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
$325.70 front 245/40ZR20 (99Y) XL
$336.70 rear 275/35ZR20 (102Y) XL

'13 750xi staggered

Nankang Tires NS-20
$68.75 front 245/40ZR20 (95Y) SL
$88.00 rear 275/35ZR20 (102Y) XL

The NS-20s are perfectly fine. They brake hard in the wet and especially in the dry. I can get 4 sets for the price of 1 PS4P set with money left over. The problem is if you get a hole in the tire or a bulge from hitting a pot hole then your tire is done.
