Sorry if already discussed, difference in 1M and Z4 sdrive35is engine?
the difference (if any) in the engine in the new 1 M Coupe, and the one in the Z4 35is? Also, I don't see where any of the car magazines have actually tested the 35is, they all just give driving impressions and quote BMW 0-60 times. I would love to see some hard data (although testing with the awful RFT's probably will not show the true capability).

Re:
The only difference between the iS engine and the 1M engine is the Mpower sticker on the 1Ms plastic engine cover.
Now I must order one of those stickers. |

The main difference is in the wrapping materials they use for the two engines, and of course the taste of the people who buy them.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It shows the 35is engine was good enough for an M car afterall.

Resurrecting a thread...
Strangly enough, my Z4 sDrive35iS uses normal 5W40 Oil according to BMW, while the 1M engine uses 10w60, just like al other M-BMW's.. Why!? |

Simple, because one might track the 1M so the they recommend higher viscosity. Any LL1 BMW approved oil will do, example i use Castrol edge 0-40 since day one.

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=620282 Although M-cars, both the 1M and new M5/M6 does NOT use the same 10W60 engine oil as the E9x M3 or previous E60 M5. |
