Clones in deed!! They really look just like you guys. It's a little weird because i know they are siblings but they look just like you and your wife. Makes me think it's you guys when you were kids!

Very cute!

This thread has been very helpful for me. I'm 28 and the wife has wanted kids for awhile and I thought I did. I am having trouble with the thought of life stopping and my wife's body being wrecked. Call me selfish(I don't really care) or not it's nice to see others share similar thoughts and fears.

This is clearly a much more mature thread then the other bmw forum I was on before I got my e90. When I asked a similar question flaming ensued.

I actually agree the decision to have children is selfish.
I don't think it's selfish to procreate.

is this thread now open for story time !?!?

it is now...

quick one: on Monday my daughter got the bright idea that she was gonna "live under the sink" from now on...

she went upstairs, got her pillows, blanket and ipad and cleared out the space under the sink...

I was a little nervous and hesitant at first, but after seeing how it was under there, I allowed her to sleep there....

well, I get up at midnight and walk into the bathroom - she was FAST ASLEEP lol

This is kinda like having all your friends tell you "OMG you gotta try this new donkey dick dish, its soooo good!!". Even though you are thinking to yourself, no fucking way that is good, you can't help but doubt yourself because all your friends are stuffing their faces full of donkey dicks. Am I crazy for thinking that sounds awful and I'm totally missing out? Are my friends bat shit crazy and it tastes as bad as it sounds? Are they simple evil shits who want to see me suffer as they have? Unfortunately only one way to find out, but you can't just wash this one down with a beer if it sucks.

I've always been a late bloomer... Didn't have my first until I was 36. We were married for seven years before we finally had kids. Took our time, played and traveled before taking the plunge. Is it always perfect? No. My youngest lives with his diabetes like a trooper but then it's the only life he's known. Do we enjoy getting up at 2 am every morning to check his blood sugar? Of course not, we get tired, we're human. But I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world!

Why? Because having kids is the most rewarding and fulfilling feeling in the world for me. Nothing in this world even comes close. It is the ultimate responsibility and sacrifice, its not something that everyone can man up to. It's really hard to experience life fully until you have and raise your own kids. I can try to elaborate a bit more but its pointless, its something that can only be realized after you have your own child.

Being young, I obviously enjoy what little freedom I have left, but there is nothing more I'd like than to have a little William running around to force to play ice hockey like my father did with me. There are a million things I wish I could have gotten more from my childhood that I would like to pass along, watch them grow, and hopefully become better than myself.

Only issue is that I feel I can't count on my current SO to have mutual parenting tactics, which would probably create a crappy situation for everyone involved, most importantly a child. I'm much too laid back to try and deal with that kind of stress.

No desire to have kids here. I don't have one good example from my friends I can pick from. Either they have gotten divorced, financially struggling to the point they can't pay bills, or they talk about how miserable they are all the time. How can someone want kids when you see what it's doing to the people around you like that? A small group of my friends with kids will tell me that they wouldn't give it up for the world, but they say it in such a heartless way that it's like struggling to say it. Then they avoid me, and post pictures of them sitting around all weekend in pajamas.
