It's not the transmission. Post #30 clarified the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is protecting the driver from themselves.

i test drove a DCT M sport Z4 and a 6mt base model Z4.
The 6mt had a ton of instant power off the line, whereas in the DCT no matter what mode I'm in, etc., there was noticeable delay off the line. my 2c FWIW. |
