The life span of Z4
When is BMW going to stop producing Z4?
I am thinking of buying the 2012 Z4 i35s but I hesitate to put out close 70K for the car if BMW is going to stop producing the car in 2013 - 2014 or have a face lift soon .... I like the Z4 but then it does not have the LED daytime running lights, blackout front grill, matching car color seat roll bar ... Your thoughts???? Jeff |

No one knows. Typically BMW facelift every 3/4 years. If you're uncertain, wait. I'd be amazed if the car changed drastically though. ...and you're basing a very expensive decision on different coloured headlights and roll bars??

Swap out the stock grill for black ones and paint the roll bar covers as others have (search the forum) and there you go

My guess is that in the next year or two, we'll see somewhat of the same treatment, specifically new style angel eyes. |

What is it re the roll bar? Added protection in addition to the hoops? The LEDs are so played out. I don't like the Audis when it has its turn signals on, 1 side has the LED while the other side disappears and has the flashing yellow blinker...looks deformed. |

After buying the Z3 3.0 in 2001 a year before being discontinued and keeping it for 10 years, i can tell you that great style never goes out of style. Even after putting 165K miles on it. For sale btw. Just got my Z4 35i yesterday and can tell you that it just keeps getting better. Although the 35i is a higher end sports car than my Z 3.0, i plan on keeping it for a while. Go for it..

From what I have heard and been told.. the Z4 will not have a mid cycle face lift because it is a low production car and the front of the Z4 is actually what all the other cars will be going to (a more vertical forward leaning kidney grill). The Z4 was the first car to have this treatment and from what I was told they wanted to see how we liked it (it has gotten all positive reviews on the styling). So the next Z4 will be out in 3 years...

I always wanted a Z4 in the older style and when I saw the new one, I really wanted one! Such a unique car and plenty big enough for me as a daily driver (small female with no kids and hubby drives his Prius). Get one!

Waay back in late '01 I got to drive the M Roadster and M Coupe. I wasn't as impressed with the roadster as with the coupe for some reason. Just a unique vehicle.
