Do you have more video for your exhaust sound like close up cold start ?

Dose miltek has middle muffler or resonate ?

I agree something doesn't sound right - doesn't sound smooth. Sounds farty or like something is vibrating.

Could be both echo and the fact that I am running with no cats. There are houses on the entire stretch of road on the right side and woods on the left so I am sure that there was some echoing going on. Also, tiny microphones don't do a great job when it comes to getting the true sound from the exhaust.

I had a maddad exhaust on my 135i and this Milltek exhaust does sound more raspy than the maddad. The maddad midpipe did have resonators where as the Milltek does not and that is probably the difference. I bought two 200 cell cats about a month ago because that I am considering having them welded into the midpipe. I think that this will get rid of some of the raspyness. reduce how loud the exhaust is and also get rid of some of the carbon that shows up on my rear bumper.

At WOT this exhaust is pretty loud and is pretty tame when driving it normally.

Havnt seen too many people that are getting too much into mods on the E89.

What are your opinions of the Cobb? Are you planning to get a pro-tune or go to an E30 or E50 tune?

I currently have an N55 135i (mods in sig) but will probably be going to a Z4 within the next 6-8 months. What are your opinions since you went from the 1 to the Z? Any regrets on switching to the Z?

Sorry for the semi-thread jack but you seem to have done what im contemplating doing.

A bit raspy but I like it. Is miltech exhaust a full catback? removing the mid cats/resonators?

Sounds like a Jap car? His car sounds amazing. If that was meant to be an insult, I'd say it's more of a compliment. The 370Z, LFA, and GT-R all sound great.

Did you get around to fitting those Cats in? If so how does it sound?

I'm asking as I'm making my own blend of exhaust for my 135i which will be: Milltek Catless DPs, Milltek High Flow Catted centre section, Milltek resonator or Resonator delete, BMW PE.

Now I've heard your video I am pretty happy that I've opted for High Flow Cats as the Catless DPs and going totally Catless will turn things up to 11, a little too much for me in respect to loss of tone and increase in rasp. I've listened to a couple of videos featuring a Z4 35i without Catless DPs and it sounds perfect so it'd appear that the DPs and Cats there are doing a good job.

My one dilemma is, do I accompany the High Flow Cats with a resonator or leave all the refinement of tone up to the BMW PE... I'm not sure the PE can handle it all alone as the High Flow Cats are both smaller and higher flowing than the stock DP Cats and therefore will allow more rasp.
