I'm sure you are correct about the registration however that does not make it a 2012. BMW has not begun production of MY2012 yet, at least as far as Z4's are concerned. For example my registration tabs say 2012 but that has no bearing on the manufacturers model year.

But the Z4 is only built in one place. I'm told that Munich does not begin production of the 2012 until September. Regardless of where you are ordering your car from..., if BMW is not making them yet it can't be a 2012.
