Wrapped my interior trim! Avoid carid remin kits!
So a few weeks ago I bought the remin trim kit. The full $300 set. It's an overlay system that covers all the wood trim and vents and more... supposedly.
Thing is, it's way off for our cars. Carid wouldn't work with me when I gave them pictures after pictures of how it was missing several pieces to be considered "complete". As in it would cover only 3/4 of the door trim while they claim "the original trim can sometimes be visible" disclaimer. Yeah I expected it to peek through some areas but what I'm talking about is far from that. It's utter crap and a waste of time. You can see from my pics what I mean. So, I ripped it all off. Took off all my trim myself. Spent $40 on wrap and did it myself. The only sad hard part was breaking the trim off the panels bc they're all melted on. |

Here's the remin kit on the center console which is pretty good. The only pieces that were good quality and fitment. Doors and side pieces were both missing sections

I think matte solver carbon looks amazing. Same as to what the msport package comes with if u don't have it. If u have the silver cf I'd keep it. But that's personal preference conpletely |

Holy crap that's just atrocious fit; especially the piece around the door handle. That's well beyond a reasonable "original trim sometimes visible", that's "we made this kit based on what we remembered the original trim looking like when we saw it that one time". The job you did looks way better. How did you resecure the pieces you had to break off the melt-on fastening?

That looks amazing. I am trying to remove the center console by the gear box and I am getting stuck because the leather cover around the gear lever is attached to the silver trim. Can you please tell me how you removed your center console by the gear. I am able to pull it off the clips but not able to lift it high enough due to the gear trim in the way to take out the wiring under the idrive/roofcontrols.
Thanks, Jake. |

Hey thanks for the reply. I have the DCT, I did not see any DCT cable, could you possibly point me to where the cable is. Does the shifter itself come out too.

That worked like a charm thanks. How did you take out the dash trim by the light switch. I can't seem to figure that one out.
