ROAD TRIP

The wife and I are getting ready to undertake our first long weekend road trip in the Z4.

All I've got to say is, the wife packs a lot of stuff and the trunk (or boot for you Brits) certainly is small!!!

Tell your wife a trip in the Z means bikini, shorts, T-shirt and sandals only! LOL. But really it is a small space for any lengthy trips. Happy traveling.

I'm really considering one of these custom suitcases for the E89 when I plan to do some long driving, hopefully around summer time.

@rfx45

I checked out the same luggage as well. The wife has put a temporary block on my Z4 related spending.

This trip will surely convince her, I hope, to get the custom fit luggage prior to our long trip this summer. Mine you, with one roll-on, and a few duffles you can pretty much fill the area quite nicely with minimal wasted space. And if I give her that bigger case, she WILL FILL IT to the max and I will have to lug it around. Maybe better with the smaller bags you can manipulate into the space provide (with the top down).

Baremeg55: I have the Roadsterbags, they are great. Did a two week road trip to Montana, all went well. My sweetie did agree to snuggle up with the sunday golf bag when we went topless. Enjoy your trip!

Simple, give her a bag and tell her "Whatever you can fit in here you can take along"

Be sure to keep an eye on your air pressure (for long trips with luggage and the roof in the trunk I've been told {when I drove my former Z4} to add about 10% of air pressure to the rear wheels to prevent tire inner wear ... just saying).

Have a safe trip

Not a bad idea on the tire pressure....but also watch the outside temperature as that will in itself affect the tire pressure. That one bag limit will never work! You know that. ....this though may work.

Those roadster bags are perfect. They're high quality and of course fit perfectly allowing you to maximize your storage. Highly recommend.

BMW gave me some complimentary BMW luggage (Trolley bag) that fit very nicely in the boot.

Or just leave the husband and home and then she can take whatever she wants.

I just got a price on the Roadsterbag set from Rene. We r thinking about it for our ED in June. 160,20 euro plus 80 euro for shipping to the U.S., via DHL. $320 for the set. Ouch. I'm not sure that's worthwhile. might have to pack crappy duffle bags and buy the set in Munich upon arrival.

Wow, that's $100 more expensive than mine were 20 months ago.

Did you tell Rene that you were a forum member? He provides discounts for us.

Thanks, hope to make it back there soon.

It WAS an amazing weekend weather wise. On top of that, I had to watch 2500 women running in the 13.1 mile marathon Zooma Women's Race series. I never seen that many women huffing, puffing and sweating at one time!!!
