switching to a smaller wheel and square tire setup?
Hey guys,
I've been thinking about moving from the stock 19" wheels to a 17" setup with something like a 255/40/17 square setup to reduce weight, tire replacement cost and gain access to sticker street tires like Dunlop Star Spec, Kumho XS, etc Seems like a win on many levels (other than perhaps looks) Tried to search around the forums but haven't found anything. Has anyone done this? |

Is this any help?
Mine came new with the following 17" size. "Light Alloy Wheels Turbine Styling 292 17" with mixed tyres" "Option Code" 2AE Fronts:- 225/45RF17 91W Rears:- 255/40RF17 94W FWIW, ride on (original) Bridgestone RFTs was hard and uncomfortable. Ride on (replacement) Continental SSRs is a great improvement. Despite the fact that they 'look' far more attractive, I am not tempted by larger wheels. Just so long as I refrain from vainly looking in shop windows for reflections, I can't see the wheels when I'm driving so it doesn't bother me |
