Z4 ED Grand Finale

Finally took redelivery of the Z yesterday. Went for a ride out to the Torry Pines Glider Port here in San Diego. Nice to be shifting gears again after the long (9 week) West Coast delivery process. Completed the breakin process in the Deutschland @ 1850 ED miles along with a good run up to 140 mph coming back from Salzburg.

N54, 6 sp MT, Comfort Access, Premium Sound, Power & Heated Seats, Sports Package, Extended Leather, Nav Sys.

Must be nice to be behind the wheel again. Enjoy the drive!

I'll see mine again on Aug 5 in Spartanburg.

I noticed that you have a stylish inside rearview mirror. I have a large, traditional one with the garage door opener buttons. Does yours have the Homelink or the buttons underneath?

Beautiful car. The red on red is different and I really like it. Enjoy!

Wow, how did you notice that? I can't see a diff. Are you 1/2 eagle?

OP, congrats...someone really likes red! (We can't get red on red here.)

No I didn't get the BMW assist package or premium package - so no extra buttons on my mirror.

Garage List
2010 BMW Z4 35is  [10.00]
2013 BMW X5 30d  [0.00]
I noticed with the cars at the dealer over here...
Some come with a small petite mirro (trapezoidal) and others with a larger more rectangular mirror.
I asked if I could pick the larger one and they told me it was luck of the draw.
(if you can go for the universal remote option it is the larger one with remote buttons underneath - we cant get theat option in Oz)
The larger one here is the same dimensions but without the remote buttons...

I was lucky, mine came with a big mirror.
The two on the floor at the dealer ( a 23i and 30i), both had the small mirror.
The four I test drove 23i, 30i, and two 35i, three had big mirror, one had small mirror.
GO figure.

For the smaller rearview mirror, does it see all of the rear view, i.e. the area between the rollover bars? If it does also, then it's really no biggie.

I thought that mine with the larger mirror is too big for a car like the Z4. I like that stylish look of the smaller, trapezoidal mirror. From what Dr. Stig said, only the larger mirror has the Homelink buttons.

Thanks!

Here is a pic found in this forum of the smaller inside mirror...

Hmmm, in that case the smaller one would have been better since the big one does block the front view somewhat. Oh well, we have no choice in Canada, apparently.
