broke my Trim cover for retractable hardtop
http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...97&hg=51&fg=40
The force was with me and I exceeded the shear limits of the three plastic welded hinge pins on one of the black rectangular clamp/hinges of the cover in the trunk. realoem doesn't show the hinge as an individual part. Apparently must buy the entire cover assembly +core. at myself. Be Careful not to force the cover into latched position with tall cargo.

I broke mine the first month I got the car, those plastic brackets are not very durable. The dealer replaced the whole unit under warranty tho.

Mine broke on one side as well. It took like 2-3 months for my dealer to get the parts.
