Really amazing what people accept today and how the people that are really correct are always wrong

The '67 Dodge Dart with the inline 6 and 3 on the tree I had when I was 18 couldn't get out of its own way.

http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1231360 Make way for all you cool young hipsters who know what a crock of shit it is to keep the racing on a track. Of course you would have done it too - me too, that's why we call it immaturity. These scenes are a chilling caution for all of those who want to be the cool parents and let Junior into a ride that they haven't got the maturity to handle - bragging rights at the club start to pale when the cops and lawyers (and doctors/coroners) get involved. Thank god this gift to the (Playstation) racing world didn't take anybody else out with himself. Last edited by Maynard; 12-11-2016 at 10:34 AM.. Reason: added link |

Nah, it done blowed up. When I turned it over to my younger brother just before I went into the service, the rings were shot (I think. I'm no mechanic.). It blew nasty smoke something awful and ate oil. My younger brother tried to replace the engine and rear end with something out of another car. Not sure if he ever finished it or not, but I remember Dad grumbling about the thing sitting on blocks in the backyard for years.

When I was 18
When I was 18, I had a Simca Elesee. Anyone hear of them? I wanted a Renault Dauphine because it so so much cooler and faster.
Tried to convice my dad to get a Sunbeam Tiger, he did the research and ran afoul of the State Farm Insurance agent. So it was a no go. Four years later, I graduated from college and bought a 67 911S. I never crashed it and got 1 speeding ticket for 80 mph in 65 zone!!! After 5 years and 85,000 miles, it made a one way trip to Logan Airport. Came back from bix trip to St. Louis and it was gone forever, but not forgotten. It been over 50 years now, but I still have dreams that I am walking down the street and there it is. Bailyhill

I was 18 once myself. About 37 years before you were. I did *a lot* of truly stupid things and survived anyway. Doesn't mean the things I did weren't stupid. It just means I was lucky.
