anyone also have a bike with their Z4?

Just wondering how many people have a bike together with their Z4.

The new Ducati 1199 is coming out in a couple more months and i'm taking delivery of one.

will post some pics if people are interested.

Thumbs up

In addition to my 2009 35i, my bike is a Triumph Thunderbird, purchased last year. Currently drooling over a new Speed Triple or Ducati Diavel to add to the stable though...

No more bikes until the kids get older.
I had a K1200RS for a few years until my eldest was born.
Currently covetting the new K1300S or the K1600GT...

I currently and have been riding MC's for 30+ yrs, mostly beamers. Bought the Z4 bimmer to use mostly in the winter. It gets really cold in the morning here during the long SoCal winters, top down in the afternoon. Almost as good a cycling!

Like Herk,
I've got over 40yrs of riding, mostly Beemers (check my garage pics) 300K miles on them and my current favorite is a Kawasaki C14 Concours. Once bmw started making their bikes like Jap bikes, I decided to buy the real thing. Most of my riding buddies are still on Beemers and they mostly keep up. I buy a bike to put hundreds of thousands of miles on them, NOT as jewelry.

In 2002 I bought my last ride, a 2002 CBRXX Super Blackbird, and my 2002 M3. The bike was a dream but after riding only to Phoenix from So Cal, and to Vegas , to San Diego a few times and to Santa Barbara I sold it in 2007 with only 3800 miles on it. Both were Titanium Silber.

The reviews are correct - it is a remarkable bike. I have had two K1200LT's in the past as well as some sport and sport touring bikes, and I absolutely love the K1600. I can truly say, it is the best bike I've ever owned/ridden. Sport bike/GT handling, incredible power and acceleration, and yet with the comfort to do all-day (850 miles) rides effortlessly. If you get the chance to take one for a test ride, take advantage of it. It will leave you grinning!

My Ducati Multistrada 1200S is asleep in its cover in the barn next to my wife's Ducati Monster 696.

I have only ever ridden Ducatis and Vespas. I keep being amazed that I don't like BMW bikes that much. Maybe it's grateful - as expensive as Ducatis can be, I've spent less than most BMW riders I know.

My back can't handle superbikes or even Monsters any more. The MTS1200 is comfy, can get a grocery or two, and it still has the engine of an 1198.

The way this works out in New Hampshire is that essentially I end up not driving my Z4 much in the summer since I'm riding the bike as much as possible, then the zettie is my daily driver in the snow.

Our Motorrad website is malfunctioning. (Must have been built by Audi)
What is the big difference between the GT and the GTL? (apart from the top box)

A slight difference in the ergonomics - the GTL is a slightly more upright/touring position - bars, foot peg location, seat style, and the wind screen is slightly larger for a bit more wind protection. There are also a few cosmetic differences in the frame/wheel color as well as the GTL has chrome accents. With the Top case on the GTL, the top speed is limited slightly lower than the GT. The color choices on the GTL are silver and deep blue, the GT is red and white. There are also a few differences in the standard electronics between the two. Base price is slightly higher for the GTL than the GT.

THank you.

From the small pics I could see on the web page - there seemed to be very little difference except in colour choices...

More than welcome my friend down under.
Here's a K1600 forum if you are interested. While it's free, it has ads which makes it a bit of pain, but some good info. http://www.k1600forum.com/forum/

"Bike" is, indeed, needlessly ambiguous in this context.
