If you go back, you will notice my comment that all colors look good. I have said that a few times. I was showing you how poor your comment was. The expression freedom of speech comes with responsibilities. They say that "freedom of speech ends where the other person's nose begins". Something you should learn.

it appears as others are putting the dreaded words "turbo" on the back of a car.

I agree with you JP. I know the film is an excellant productand and it works. But I like to wax my car and don't really mind the occasional character flaw. 1850 miles on our ED with no paint problems to date. But soon to be back in the US with the roadside trash and truck debris. Has anyone had any experience with the "Dr. Colorchip" paint touch-up system. Just anticipating my first nick after redelivery.

Yes - it works well as advertised. It is OK for small chips and road rash on the front end. To repair larger chips, you'll want something like the Langka paint repair system that allows you to smooth out the paint blobs that can happen when you use touch-up paint. BavAuto has it. I've used it rather extensively on my 10 year old bimmer, as well as Dr. Colorchip. Both work in their own way.

cdmulders,

Thanks for the input on the Dr Colorchip and Langka products. Hopefully I won't need them for a few more miles. I've done some mc painting and have used various makes touch up sticks/brushes - if I'm careful I can get a decent touchup job. Good to hear some alternative products work as advertised!

I have some experience with the 3M Clear Guard as I had pit on my previous vehicle (04 350z Roadster). I had the front bumper/air dam, front section of the hood, mirrors and door edges done. It was about $575 installed at my home and took the techs about 4 hours.

Overall I had the car with the film on it for more than 4 years and never had any peeling, yellowing, etc. And my bumper stayed flawless even with allot of highway driving.

One caution I would offer is don't get this installed unless your paint is flawless underneath. If you have any chips, the film will make them actually look like bubbles underneath. My advice is that if you decide to get the protection film, get it installed as early as possible and from a reputable company with experienced techs that offer a lifetime warranty against peeling, yellowing, etc. That was the deal my film came with.

I would love to do my 09 z4 s35i but unfortunately I bought mine used and it has a few chips already and I know how poor the film looks going over those...
