When you were spouting about "I will never ever post in this Z4 forum again" a mere seven weeks ago I had hoped you were a man of your words. Guess your words just ring hollow. I wish we had an ignore feature on this board.

I think he just misses having a Z4 and is poking jabs to justify his crossover. How could you not? It has a unique beauty, torquey, plenty of fun all around roadster/coupe, and get's pretty decent gas mileage.

IMHO, I think it's one of the best looking convertible with the roof up or down. The novelty still hasn't worn out for me in the almost 2 years I've had mine. I just can't stop looking back every time I park it.

flpnout, my sentiments exactly. I couldn't have said it better. I have had mine for a year and a half and I too, look back every time that I park it. I love this car!

Whoa.., spontaneous meltdown.. That's not at all the type of response I expected from an enthusiast who has been driving BMW's "properly" for longer than I have been alive. I expected some witty retort, instead I feel like I was just broken up with. Or perhaps I missed it when you really stuck it to us by deleting all of your posts, boy you really showed us with that one (missed #20 btw).

As Marcw pointed out it should come as no surprise to you that people were growing tired of your jabs when it's obvious that you miss the car (Flpnout). We are all sympathetic to that but the way you go about it isn't fooling anyone and is just plain irritating. Particularly when you demand our respect with so many comments referencing your advanced experience. The amazing thing about the internet, Rolf, is that it tends to nullify ones age, so respect is garnered from how you carry/represent yourself while interacting with others on it. Throwing down your toys and storming out of the proverbial room (much like you did with your Z) is not going to score you any points in my book.

Rolf,

Post all you want, but if the nature of your posts continues, just be prepared for the ridiculing. It is an open/free forum, like you stated.

What, you expect us to read your BS and say nothing?

You've, "done your part" you said ?! Yes, if you consider your role to be annoying former Z4 owner.

..and stop candy coating and justifying the reason for your initial post. We can all see through that BS.

Our Z4 used to be unique...now with the cheap lease deals everyone is getting one

It's not as special as you think it is. It's over-priced and does not match up to its competitor, Boxster. Demand is extremely low as every dealer has 10-20sitting on the lot. Hence, the lease specials from BMW to move them.

Sorry to hear that GenX, looking back over all the issues you have had I can see why you would feel that way.

My experience with the "iS" version has been the complete opposite.

Sound like you got a lemon. It happens with every model of every car, to the unfortunate few. You are one of the slim few that feel the car is overpriced, but to no surprise, given you got a lemon. I feel sorry for you. Better luck with the your car.

Sorry, but your theory has a hole in it already >>>> There are ZERO new 35i on dealers lots in the entire Phoenix, AZ area. ...a select few 30i and 1 35is.

Is everyone still running as fast as they can to their nearest Porsche dealer to buy a 14 year old, tired looking body style Boxster?

Damn, I wish I had the Boxster Spyder with the cloth door handles. Just what I always wanted - a cloth loop for a car door handle on my overpriced $72k 14 year old looking car!!! ..but hey, that saved 3.25 lbs!!!!

Sadly enough, most Boxsters we see here in AZ are all driven by middle aged woman.

So I'm the only one who feels overall quality of the e89 is not what it should be?

I feel the quality of the Z4 is exactly where it should be. The car is solid as a rock with virtually no fit/finish or mechanical or electrical issues the first 2 years and 21,000 miles I've driven it, and not a squeak, squeal or noise from the engine or suspension. The interior has maintained it's quality look and feel with no signs of wear. The paint has mainteined it's original luster and is in near flawless condition. The DCT continues to operate well. The car has been in for only one warrany item (HPFP) in 24 months. I'm not sure what else one can ask for out of a $60k (MSRP) car, except for a better audio system.

My previous car - a 2007 Corvette Coupe - was no copmparison to the Z4, at the same point in time and mileage. The Corvette had some squeeks and squeels and the body lost some of it's cohesion and stiffness after 21,000 miles. The leather got a bit worn out. the transmission started to get a bit clunky. Some interior bits and parts broke and had to be replaced or started to look worn out. The floor mats wore down and faded. ..and the car was in for warranty work more times than I would have liked.
