To be honest, I wasn't 100% if exactly what the acronym stood for, only what it meant since I've seen it tossed around in the context of facelifts, mid-model updates, etc.

Had to do a little G'ing

I don't think we're going to be able to resist the current lease programs. I like to swap every 2-3 years, like driving worry/maintenance free and don't DD so mileage isn't an issue (my current roadster has 18K miles and it's a 2007).

It is a form a renting with a guaranteed payment every month. In 24 months
you've spent about $15,100 to drive that $60K car that will have a residual value of 45 or 50K?
I guess we're a little weird, we don't need a new Bimmer every two years.

It's closer to 12K for two years of fun.

So, $12,600 in payment and no money down at lease signing? Sweet deal I guess.

You don't ever "own" a car, until it's paid off. Anyone who gets 60mos payment terms and sells the car in 3 years never owned it either.

I love 24 mos leases. It's great to not worry about being tied to a car long term...

We wait till we find something we REALLY like and just buy it outright. No loans, no interest payments.

What was your thinking on the 35i vs. 35is? I'm thinking about scoring one on these great lease deals, kind of favoring the 35is, though I'll likely do an ESS or Burger tune (kind of making the power bump irrelevant). Right now, I'm comparing an M-Sport package + DCT 35i, which gets it within $5K of the 35is (that has those standard).
I didn't hesitate on going for the 35is ... I am not looking to go down the mod path this time around and wanted the best package I could get out of the box (I modded my past few cars and just want a break ... plus, I'm leasing it). The extra power, exhaust sound, 19" 326M wheels, etc. made it easy to choose ... also, the lease rates on the 35is were slighty better than the 35i helping to make up some of the difference in price.
