Help: No ETA on order for 20 days now

Place my order on July 1, got the production number on July 5th. Since then, the status has not moved 1 bit (stuck on stage 1 - Order has been received). I call each day, but nothing.
For the past few days My BMW site has not been working either so that I can track the status.

Any one else in a similar situation?

How long does it normally take from when you get your production number to when it starts production?

You are calling BMW USA. Wrong. Call your CA he/she gets updates first. Production usually begins about two weeks after getting the pro number. BMW workers begin vacation on the 23rd of July.

Got my number about 5 weeks ago and just went in to production on the 15th. Supposedly it will be completed on the 22nd according to their automated phone system, and based on the above mentioned vacation schedule I hope that is true.

Yes, have called BMW USA. Also called my CA and he doesn't have any updates either. So is 5 weeks after production number the norm. If so this is going to be a looong summer.
Also if the factory closes July 23, then there isn't much time left for start of production.

thats fine, i ordered mine june 28th and its scheduled for production the first week of August so dont worry it takes some time.

the longest part is now, production takes a week and then transportation and customs another 3. so bmw's original estimate of 3 months is correct

Yep, I ordered on May 1st and am picking up my Z4 on the 28th of July. Basically, 3 months exactly.

That doesnt sound too good.

I was hoping for 2 mo turn around. The CA told me 6-9 weeks. Which is what I had heard from another BMW CA as well and read online somewhere.

Is it 3 mo now?

it was always 3 months, sometimes they manage quicker, now with the crazy residuals a lot of Z's were ordered so i'm assuming thats why its a bit longer. think of it this way, at least you got one

West Coast is always three weeks later than East Coast. I ordered mine on the 26th of May, finished production July 10, on a boat July 17, arrival in Cali on Aug 8 plus another week to the dealer for a total of 78 days.

Ok. My CA just confirmed an Aug build and a mid sept delivery. Looks like in line with wait times you guys are experiencing.
