Other posters have suggested that the reason the US doesn't allow "BMW Individual" colours is because of some buyer's rights with respect to cancelling their order without penalty on initial inspection.
Under that regime, you could order a very ugly and hard to sell car, and the dealer woudl be stuck with it when you saw it in the flesh and decided you didn't want it either. With the Spirit of Escasty, it will just be shared software development now that BMW own RR. The wrong file uploaded - I imagine it would be easy to do. The menus will just be a structured format template, and the look and feel of the menus will just be a display format file. I imagine with soem clever coding we could change the look and feel of the BMW menus to look like the RR version, or a Mini version as well. Might even be able to code a spcial version to look like something space age, like the dash of an Aventador.

No on the Aero. I do have a DeLorean if that counts. I love my E36 (its my third one). Mine is a 99' 328i Convertible (Avus Blue / Sand Beige, loaded).

Well just got back from the dealer, they had never seen this before!!!!!! How many times do you have to hear that when driving a beamer? Will go thru the whole car next week with their computer/programmer wizzard. Back to square one and hopefully get my "setup" back. It't just so annoying having to spend time at the dealer when nice weather finally arrived.........next car will be from the sixties |

Why thank you kind sir! Truth be told, I like driving the BMWs much more then the DeLorean. Sure, the DMC has the 'wow' factory and I think it looks stunning but for driving fun, the BMWs blow it out of the water. Here are a few pics of my DeLorean and my E36. Sorry they are so large. Yes, the funky looking blond guy in these pictures is me. Sorry to scare everyone by having to see me! LOL

Two wellkept beautiful cars! Treat the Zed the same way!
Only 10 running DeLoreans in Sweden so I haven't seen one in real yet. Keep it even if you should hate to drive it Your E36 looks like new! Mine doesn't. |

If I ever sell my DeLorean, I want to sell it in Australia! There are only two of them in the entire country. The last two times either of them went up for sale, they fetched over $110,000 USD!!!! I will be selling it within the next five years, all of my cars actually. I fell in-love with Amsterdam and The Netherlands on a trip there last month and decided to move there within the next five years.
Sorry everyone, |

Unless there are some very good kits out there. We had a Delorean club entry in our local St Patrick's day parade this year. There were 7 of them. I doubt they came from all over Australia, more likely these were just the ones in Brisbane. How many did they make anyway?

They made 3,000 give or take. It is estimated then less then a thousand are still around, running and in good condition. As for multiples in Australia, the numbers could have changed. There were only two there but that was some years ago I found that out. The DeLorean has been gaining a lot of attention, interest and press lately so it is quite likely more and more have been purchased and imported.

DeLorean Australia (www.ozdelorean.com) estimates about 70 in the country. That's not a lot, but it's many more than 2. According to this thread, there were 2 DeLoreans in the same container headed to Australia a couple of months ago.

Approximately 9,000 DMC-12s were made before production halted in late 1982. Today, about 6,500 DeLorean Motor cars are believed to still exist. |

I think it is offical. Your car is POSSESSED!
Call out a priest, not the dealership. Oh my God! Now I have to find a cat to strangle and som frogeyes to throw over the car to dedemoninise it. Now I know what the hidden room at the dealer is about. Time to get an Italian car? Pope should still have something to say about this! This is scary! |

LMFAO! 9,000 my A*s!!! Furthermore, there were also 1983 models. That wikipedia article is all kinds of messed up. I consulted the DOA (DeLorean Owners Association) and got the actually production numbers: 1981: 3,562 1982: 1,280 1983: 1,250 Grand Total: 6,093 So yes, I was off by about half! Yikes!! I used to know everything about these cars. I haven't been active with the cubs or the DMC community lately, just too damn busy! Besides, the new E89 is getting all of my attention lately!
