Has anyone removed their cat yet?

I was wondering if that would sound any good.

I know of a couple manufacturers currently working on a catless downpipe for the 35i. With the exception of the rear muffler the downpipe/primary catalyst is a major restriction in the e89 exhaust system. As a result removing the said restriction is going to yield both good sound and power. Keep an eye out for catless downpipes in the near future

I just installed cattless 3" DP, sound is deeper with more roar...very nice! Removing the cats will have zero effect on the engine. It opens up the exhaust and lets the turbos spin more freely, engine rev more freely. There will be an increase in emmissions, but I haven't notice any change in smell etc, even when I start in the morning with the garage door closed. I left the rear cats in, don't believe it health (for humans not the car) to completely remove cats on a street car.

can't recommend more!
