About the steering being much lighter on the 35IS..

Isn't that because the 35IS comes with servotronic as a standard option and
maybe your 23i had no servotronic?

Nice move from 23i to 35is

I can confirm oil temps up to 120° are normal

On german highways it even goes beyond (had mine to 125°)

All UK E89s have servotronic as standard. Seems it's just the iS has the lighter steering program.

Much better IMO.

So upgrading with servotronic isn't the way to go...
Should there be a possibility to get the lighter steering of the IS on my 2.3i?
