Aluminum trim on AC controls

Hi,

Anyone know how to remove the Aluminum trim piece on the dash around the AC controls. Some have piano lacquer or wood. I have the metal weave aluminum. I can take out the whole piece, but the aluminum piece is installed with a rivet that is melted at the back of dash trim. I know folks have removed the trim, but how do you put it back after I remove it.

Hey Jake,

I have had a lot of luck on my trim projects with a hot glue gun. It holds and can be pried back off if you get it misaligned and can do it again.

i drilled the melted sections off to remove the trim. i used epoxy to resecure them.
