Garage List
2010 BMW Z4 35is  [10.00]
2013 BMW X5 30d  [0.00]
With the roof up - mine squeacked and cracked a lot on rough roads.
I took it back tot he dealer and they went crazy with lubricant (BMW approved apparently)
Made a world of difference.

After two months it is only now starting to make a small noise again - I will take it back in in a month of so to get readjusted and lubed again. (all under warranty of course)

I plugged in that PN 82 149 407 015 into google and got a website that has a a similar product. Is it as good as the original? Go about halfway down the page.

http://www.roadstersolutions.com/page78.html

When googling the PN, there were quite a few references to people talking about BMWs product, but an actual listing to purchase the product didn't pop up during the search.

Here's another one. Don't know if these are just posers or as a good as the original.

By popular demand, we now import Einszett Gummi Pflege straight from Germany!

You all need to go out and get a product called Dow Corning 4. It is the exact same product as Gummi Pflege. I'm not sure where you can buy it in your local but check online. I have been using it for about 5 years, since my original tube of Gummi P sprung a few leaks in the tube :-)

So I would go for the KY Jelly or Dow Corning 4 instead of the new Gummi product.

FWIW I found several google references to it but here's one on Amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.com/Dow-Corning-El.../dp/B000LEX8TA About $20 US for a fairly large tube

I use this one (Einszett Gummi Pflege) on my wifes 325 Vert. As Dr Stig noted it usually lasts for about 2 months in the warmer weather. Then it is time for a recoat as the squeaks slowly return. I would not use any greasy dielectric product (Dow Corning 4) as it will certainly attract more dirt/grit - just where you don't want it. So far the Z has been squeak and rattle free.
