Z4 tuning - cobb accessport Qs, and Cobb vs ess
I currently have a 335i (with the Cobb AccessPort).
I want to buy a used 2009 or 2010 z4 35i soon and install the Cobb tune on it. I can hardly find any info at all on z4s running Cobb, and what I've found so far is a bit confusing. Qs: 1) why is ESS preferred over Cobb seemingly (from browsing this forum, there's far more on ESS)? 2) Does the Cobb tune on the z4 deliver the same results as it does on the n54 335i? 3) Was the z4 35i made in 2009? I believe it was, but the Cobb website only lists compatibility with the 2010 z4. Not sure why. (reference: http://www.cobbtuning.com/BMW-Z4i-s/70510.htm ) 4) Are there dyno results for the z4 with the cobb tune? |

2009 was the first year of production for the E89. That's about all I can help you with.

There's support for the 09, it'll be the same map as the 10 listed on their website. Results should be fairly similar to the 335i N54, but with DCT there's a little less gain to keep it within safe margins.
