replace storage compartner under armrest

the installation was very simple. 4 screws out and 4 screws in. having the tray I am no able to store my glasses, remote, etc. it gives you extra space for many items. Well worth the wait and effort to find and ship it from outside the US

I would like to do this mod for my 2014 35IS, but I'm not sure how to get the smart phone adapter cradle out (the cradle that holds the smart phone adapter see bottom post on this thread http://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=586164 )

crap! I received 51169181229, which is cell phone tray.
I guess the correct one is 51169181218.

I am not sure is this 2014 model problem.
Basically, the UK tray will not fit unless I remove those cables.
Am i suppose to cut it with a knife?

Look for my original post out here for pics. You can remove the circuit board and there is space under the existing plastic to gently "shove" those remaining cables so you can install the new storage unit.

Okay.

Since the European storage console is flat on the bottom, I guess I either cut the metal cable or make the plastic hole bigger. Unless someone can educated me how to remove the part below the plastic tray..

There really is enough room to shove those cables in that hole they come out of. Below is my original posts, but have done this with the flat tray too, so know it can be done - even with my sausage sized fingers

It works... I could not have done it without your help.
My lesson is don't be afraid of breaking it. I just shove most of it and cover it with the tray hahaha

It is very difficult to express how wonderful it is with the new tray! I am not sure is it because I use 6+ or Z4 space is too limited. I was very annoyed with the useless phone holder design.
