I saw a few days ago an M4.

It as far as I know didn't look like mine, in any way, it was a 428i or someone really did a number on me by selling me the wrong shit.

The thing is, them adding the logo into ass wipes is his a way to flatter us. We have the balls, why bother to get hurt because someone wants to feel connected to the brand?

I only seen a few, like one or two so far.

But ya, I mean... it isn't a huge deal really. Just find it funny

This is very interesting as the exact same discussion is happening on the Jag forum I am on as Jag have started an R-Sport range on their XFs. This clashes with both their XFR and XFRS special V8 versions of the standard XFs.

I said there as I will say here. It depends why you bought your car. Did you buy it to show off and make everyone thing 'wow he spend £$£$£$£$£ on that car he must be rich' or did you buy it for the car it actually is and you don't care what people think. If you bought it to show off then the M sport for BMW or R Sport for Jag destroys the image of the actual M BMWs or R / RS cars at Jag. If you bought it for the performance then it makes no difference what so ever to you.

Trying to figure out what is worse. Audi with their S-Line badging or BMW with their M line. Both are offensive.

+1 this is exactly the reason i went with MG on my M4

Honest to God, I saw a saturn just the other day with a BMW roundel in the middle of his trunk. My son was in the car with me and he suggested pulling up next to him. So I did, and he gave me a thumbs up and all of us just started laughing including the guy in the Saturn.

There was a non-M version of this model too. The previous generation (Z3) had a non-M 'vert but IIRC, the coupe was M only.

Wow, this is quite strange behavior.

I have no problem with you putting M badges on your 4 series ... not something I'd do since I'm opposed to anything ersatz for myself, but more power to ya.

What's strange is your "emulate you in any way" comment ... the M4 is arguably the ambassador of the M range and the benchmark for top-range sports sedans ... so why would you choose the M badge if you're not trying to emulate the M brand?

What am I missing?

Joe, what was the driving factor behind your decision to place M logos on your car and what did you achieve ?

Not sure what mythology has to do with it ...

If you don't want to be associated with M-drivers, isn't it confusing to by an "M-Sport" car with "M" badges and then try to differentiate yourself from people driving real M cars?

Doesn't this actually make you look like the exact opposite of what you're intending?

Joe is Bolt James aka BJ. He is the op of "kill stories" on the "other" forum.
He clears $400k/year, has McMansion, a trophy wife and a beach house. Google it, it's quite entertaining.

He's been banned on the other site, again.

The M-Sport models are designed by BMW M GmbH and are worthy of the small fender badges along with the other logos found on the door sills, steering wheel, etc. It's not an M, no one can confuse it with an M, but it's an M-Sport and that's a model that gets short changed. Too many people view it as a "Sport line with a body kit" but it's much more than that.

What I think I achieved is with painted reflectors, painted air vents, and the M-Sport badges the front quarter looks Euro-spec and pushes the 'undo' button on BMW USA and their touches which create a very busy look. It's nice and clean now.
Don't forget the wheels

I'm sure if European models came with the badge and US didn't, Joe would immediately de-badge.
