Tire/wheel fitment questions
I've got a set of wheels that I've been using for autocross/track days for my E46 that I'm hoping to put to use on my Z4, but I've found enough fitment information to make it confusing. I'm hoping somebody could clear things up for me. One thing I did find is that with correct spacers with properly sized bolts tracking it is no problem.
Current wheels/tires: Stock Style 325 wheels Front 18 x 8 ET 29 with 225/40 tires Rear 18 x 8.5 ET 40 with 255/35 tires Race wheels: Fr/Rr 18 x 9 ET 45, will be getting new tires So with the offset the race wheels have I'm pretty sure I'll need to run a spacer up front unless there's a lot more room between the inside of the wheel and the strut than I'm imagining. In the back a 12mm spacer would leave the inside lip exactly where the stock wheel sits, but without it the outside lip is pretty much in the stock wheel location. Should I go with a 5mm spacer there? In this post it looks like somebody is running 255s all around, but with increased front camber, but I've read of others running 245 with no problems. Like here where he's running 19X8.5 +17 245/35/19 front and 19X10 +25 275/30/19 rear. Can anyone confirm/deny my thoughts on my wheels with 20mm spacer up front and 5mm in the rear with 245/35 tires all around or have better suggestions? These will only be used for autocross and track days so being able to go full lock with no rubbing isn't an issue. |
