Servotronic, what's the benefit?
Hi Guys, I saw many of you ordered the Servotronic option.
What are the major benefits compared to the normal steering? Is this a must have option in combination with the adaptive suspension option? Breakie |

I believed that this was not an option.....and with the normal/sport/sport+ you can adjust its response,also....
I suggest to open a thread with standard options for every country..... I just discovered that some market hasn't got the automatic a/c, light paket ,and other ancillary stuff.... Francesco |

It is standard. The major benefit is having steering that is far more sensitive when going very slow than when going very fast. At higher speeds the steering should be slower responding as a simple twitch could send you railing off the road. Many cars have a fixed steering ratio, but the BMW has a variable one...

I was under the impression Servotronic varies the steering weight, not the ratio. Lower speed - lighter weight, and vice versa. Active Steering varies the ratio.
The Servotronic ratio is fixed at 15.9:1. |

Servotronic
I think fxhomie is right. I have ordered Servotronic too. I expect the steering will be lighter at low speed, e.g. parking.
