3M stone shield.. needed replacing

My 3M Stone shield ( the clear plastic that sticks on the front) was getting strange yellow stains from some kind of weird insect strikes . NOthing would get it out and it actually reacted with the film and was permanent. I think the bugs were aliens or were eating mustard plants , any way the service guy says" I'll take it to the detail bay" with a smug smile like I don't know what I'm doing and he'll wipe it off with windex......ten minutes later he walks into the showroom and says "we have to replace it".

Here's the knockout punch...." can we have your car for the day, I'll get it done now" Yes, knocked me right out with that one...I didn't have any appointment of any kind.....and it was ready by 3pm today. and this was a BMW dealer !!! People can bitch all they want but I like my guys

I've had that happen on my white 650 and they had to replace the clear bra. Certain bugs that splatter and leave yellowish brownish color tend to stain. They recommend frequent waxing and have a quick detailer spray on hand to wipe it off as soon as possible to prevent from become a permanent stain. This is notorious on white cars with clear bras. I run my Z through a touchless car wash once week and wax every 3 months.
