I can vouch for the Eagle F1's, great tires although I haven't tried them on a Z4.

The Michelin PS2 always get good ratings...

Anyone have experience with the top 3 or 4 on Z's. Are the differences noticeable, or are they indistinguishable?

The top 3 or 4 are completely different tyres. The only summer tyre is the PS2. The others are winter. Can't really compare them. The top summer tires are the PS2 in this table.

So why is that that BMW is still putting them on the Z if the reviews are that bad ?

My previous 335i (E92) had them, my current 35is has them, even my Honda S2000 ten years ago had Bridgestones. I really must try for example the PS2's as I hear a lot of good things about them... but I can't imagine that BMW has not done a good job in selecting the proper tyres for their cars ... ?

I'm a big fan of Yokohama. Running the new ENVigor on my Z. Had the ADVAN S4s on my E93 and they performed very well.

I don't think the stock BridgeStone are that bad, but I'm always amazed of the poor tire choices manufacturers make on many cars. Accountants rule, even at BMW...
