temp front plate installation w/ NO drilling on bumper

Couldn't find any thread on this for some strange reason but I'm sure some (ALL lol) of you guys hate having a front plate and thought of ways to put it up w/o drilling any holes on the bumper. I was think of using 3M tape as the best idea so far but found this:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...374893&page=10

Would this work for our grills or do you have a better solution? TIA.

Something like this "might" work.
They're cheap and readily available at any hardware store.

Want to keep the plate in the middle for symmetry. Also, wish to avoid unnecessary expense for something that is only temporary.

I use the tow hook. I only put it on when I head into certain cities that tend to cite for no front plates (e.g. San Francisco or LAX); otherwise, I only have the rear plate. The temporary solution seems workable, but wonder how it impacts cooling considering the plate blocks a significant part of the front vents.

I don't use the tow hook because it puts the plate directly in front of my parking sensor and I get a non-stop tone telling me I'm way too close to my license plate.

I went ahead and ordered US Mill Works front plate mount. Though in VA I've never run a front license plate. Once in a while I've gotten a ticket. With this car, though, I want everything straight up ... unfortunately it will be an "attractive nuisance" and I don't want to give traffic cops a reason to pull me over.

Mine are from US Mill Works as well. They're really high quality.

I had a friend who installed this on his VW GTI. It seemed to work okay. Not something I would do for my cars, but could be an option.

I bought this on ebay a year ago:

I used it for a fix ticket.

Bumping this to see if any new ideas. Right now just leaning towards the 3M solution (will laminate the plate to protect from bugs). Any better ideas?
