Both OP and I posted videos of the sound in this thread.

I do not think you will need the "gold tree" mod or 35is mufflers if you delete the secondary cats. The flap helps to dampen the exhaust when just cruising, and if you are like me, you will want that after the secondary cat delete. There is a reason BMW installed it in the first place.

Why I can't use the OEM clamp of the old pipe instead of buy new OEM clamp?

So learn this: The OEM and milktek pipes are of the same diameter where the ends are to meet. You cannot slide one inside the other.........

Anyhow, everything is fine now, and first impressions are that at idle, or while cruising in D/normal and barely touching the throttle, the car is almost as quiet as before. So if you worry that this mod will take away too much comfort for long distance traveling etc, I do not think you have to.

The car is however significantly louder when you start pushing it, and all the pops and "burbles" are much easier to hear now as well. It seems I can now also better control when people turn their heads - my right foot is very delighted.

Update: Cold starts in my basement parking lot sound like small explosions now - it makes the car seem very masculine indeed! Also I am constantly finding myself speeding just to listen to that nice sound. Even with the top up, the sound is very addicting. I like it very much.

They aren't there. You have to cut the pipes, otherwise it is just one long pipe going all the way to the downpipe. The drawing on realoem is misleading. I guess they only use it for when the cats need replacement.

Removing the primary cats gan give you aprox 20-30 whp, depending on the chip tuning you run, and less turbo lag. The secondary cats are located aprox in the center of the car, welded to the midpipes. Removing them does NOT improve power and torque nor reduce turbo lag. Probably the emissions increase and it depends on how much severe are the laws where you live to go with this mod or not. For what concern the Z4 35i, I think this is the best mod to have a louder sound and an amplified upshift "TUM" @ very low cost, at least in Italy.
Hello javol, I'm Italian can I contact you by phone?

Buy Catless DP's

Suggest buying catless DP's for both sound and power gains...
Waiting for my Chargepipe so I can install my JB4 n catless DP's. Looking at an eisenmann race exhaust. If lambos n fezzas can get around without being caught for loud exhaust notes then why can't we!

I ordered two catless pipe to Milltek (MSBM197 and 198).
I need a feedback by someone that had already purchased: order placed on 6th of may; two emails for shipping forecast without reply.

Any idea?
