2009 BMW Z4 DCT FBO MHD E40 Log

I just installed the MHD E40 tune on my FBO 2009 Z4 and am new at logging. Any feedback on my log? The data seams to show 0 psi for Fuel Low Pressure Sensor and not sure why.

I am not pro about logs, but I can see that you have a lot of timing correction in cly 2 and 5. It might be bad coils or spark plugs.

Z4 does not have a low pressure sensor.

There are lots of things wrong with that log unless its still in progression being worked on

1) Fuel trims are going extremely negative. The scalars are too aggressive ie too much fuel

2) For the fuel and low boost for E40 AFR are too rich for a Direct Injection car. Look like your running a static AFR rather than a dynamic AFR target

3) Timing falls out at 2516 - 3275 RPMS is cause you are running too rich of AFR on the onset of WOT.

4) Boost and load is overshooting at 3k RPM. There is either too much VANOS overlap or too much adder or both.

5) Those timing corrections look like you need new plugs and coils. If your gonna run that much advance timing get NGK plugs and gap that to .022" . I recommend the new OEM BMW Eldor coils.

Boost curve looks fine after 3200 RPMs.

Thanks BuraQ.

That log was from the MHD OTS E40 tune. I am waiting on my Hexon RR600s and MMP inlets/outlets so I am not looking to "fix" the current tune...just trying to learn. Once I get the new turbos installed, I will be getting a Wedge tune.

You have a timing fall out also due either fueling spool too rich or regular fueling target is too rich on the onset of WOT between 2500-3000 RPMs. i would assume your acceleration has a sluggish and jagged feel instead of being progressively smooth ?

You have some wgdc oscillation also between 3000-4000 RPM. One of your PID tables are over aggressive. However you also have a lot of throttle closure which aggravating a lot of things and it may not be the PID

The tapper off and timing curve are displaced from each other, but this is minor since you don't have any timing corrections. The early taper off mostly induced by the throttle closure

You have a load spike on the down low.

Over all I am detecting you VANOS is not dialed in correctly for better flow, well at least not for your setup. I can tell this by seeing your load and boost curves are not synced. This is just my opinion on what they should look like.

Here is an example off another Z4 for an idea http://datazap.me/u/buraq/log-145590...o=4&zoom=17-70

Im not sure if your on an OTS or if you are being custom tuned. If you are being custom tuned then more likely the tuner knows this and will progressively address this tuff on the revisioned maps.
