http://freebeacon.com/issues/incomes...nce-last-year/ The Official Unemployment figure is completely bogus. When you don't count people as unemployed who have given up looking for work after one month as Unemployed, sure you get to a nice little BS 5.1% figure that only lemmings believe in. If the Government still used the basis by which unemployment was measured in the Reagan administration, we'd be over 20% right now. Even the U6 still has it over 10%. Gas prices are low because the world is in an economic slowdown. There's less producing, less shipping, etc., so the need for fuel has collapsed and there's now a glut (hence the lower prices). To you, this sounds like a good thing right? The amount of wealth built up? Yeah, it's been great if you're the 1%, everybody else has seen their wealth decreased. If you were rich before, you're even richer now, screw everybody else. Sounds great! Labor participation rate at an all time low, record number of people out of work, record number of people on government assistance (foodstamps), on and on and on. If everything is so great for the economy, why can't the Fed raise rates even 25bps? We can't even sustain a .25% increase in rates for fear of the whole thing blowing up. GDP? We've been negative in some recent quarters, and GDP is at stall speed. That's even with the new cooked numbers they use to calculate GDP! Finally, I don't think I've watched Fox News at all in the past few years except for the first Republican debate which was entertaining. You need to come up with better arguments as to why somebody might not feel the way you do just because they watch certain TV programming. |

^ Don't forget the trillions in deficit spending to "accomplish" all this. (Sorry, not trying to turn this into a political thread... But couldn't resist adding that point.)

No kidding, the national debt has now also been frozen for over 180 days at over 18 trillion. They've FROZEN the number!! The lies and deceit at this point are completely preposterous!

Don't forget that GWB ran up 8+ trillion too and his two wars are still contributing massive amounts to the debt. But yes, I agree too much debt. Recovery is expensive, but how can you fund two wars and battle a huge depression at the same time without spending? Not possible.

Sorry to hear, OP. What about finding some sort of paid internship through your school's career office? That would probably be the best route to get money and also relevant experience.
If it was me and I was out of school and I had some money saved up, I would go and backpack around the world. I have a friend who saved up $25K to travel the world for a year ending her trip in Australia where she'll probably land a job with someone she worked for in the past. Super jealous!

Finally have a moment, my posts are short becauseI'm using my phone, and it doesn't allow multi quote option. (I'm trying to use the full browser, and it sucks)
But I'm not supposed to know, which ia what makes this so much more interesting. A coworker is a friend of a manager actually told me this (gossip) which gives you an idea of the environment. They are looking for me to slip and I'm not giving them any reasons. Like I said, I'm not going to disparage my employer, we obviously aren't a good fit. I appreciate all the help, suggestions and even the discussion! It's going to be a busy night. |

Your revisionist history won't stand either. Obama had full control for two years and wasted it trying to get a horribly unpopular health care plan through. So stop the BS about Republicans getting in his way every step of the way. The Republicans have agreed with and voted for many of the programs he wanted. |

Don't know anything? Great! We'll train you! We'd rather train you from scratch, then undo all your bad habits from past "experience". Not good with math? No problem, that's why God invented calculators! And I'm serious when I say that the possibilities are wide-open. If you don't like getting your hands dirty, and are willing to move especially, your future is wide open, as you can move into sales, technical specialist, production/process "engineer", or whatever. If you're smart enough to research and design a new, effective exhaust system for our cars, then you already have that *thing* that says you have what it takes. And it sounds like you enjoy those technical things and all that. But, whatever. Your life, your wants, your decisions. I wish you the best of luck. My only real advice to you would be this: If you're unhappy, don't hang around, despite whatever your "best intentions" say you should do. Find something better. Now. Don't let an opportunity (*cough*activeautowerke*cough*) slip by because you *think* you're doing the right thing, for whatever reason... |

Does anyone here actually value LinkedIn? I think it is so full of shit and useless. A box to tick but definitely not something I've ever needed to or ever will rely on. LinkedIn...to me is like a sleazebag in a loose fitting suit handing out his business card to everyone he sees at a convention.

Slip, move on, quit...all the same. For the (apparently) little income and zero future potential you're having at this place, why drag this on and not look for the next opportunity?
