I quite like my AC rear spoiler. Subtle and flows with the car.
Dont have a pic right now but grabbed one from google.

Thx for the pix, Longboard. No prbs washing the car w/ the spoiler? Fit is flush? Easy to remove if get tired of it w/o damage?
Kinda tempted, always thought that our rears need some spicing up. |

Thanks longboard. That really looks great. I'm going for it - as soon as I get my Z out of storage, that is!

Yes, it fits flush. Don't really know because i've never taken it off but a heat gun and some nylon fishing wire. I learned this trick years ago for taking off badges like I did here. No Z4, no 35i SDrive. Just the BMW emblems. Nice and clean. Longboard |

Silly question: does it come w/ mounting instructions? Also, can there be some leeway on how 'forward'(less lip going over the edge) or 'backwards'(more lip going over the edge) the spoiler can be mounted relative to the edge of the trunk? Thx.
I have AW and kinda debating whether to color-match or go for the striking difference and get black. For you guys getting this spoiler, are you all pretty much color-matching? Anyone going outside the box like I'm thinking? |

Mine's bone stock, not sure if a black spoiler would look as good on mine or awkwardly stand out too much. |

Looks very nice. I like it. I too want something very subtle and this looks like it. I ordered a rear window spoiler for my former ride, Acura TL Type S, from this company with paint match and it was very nice. Great price like this, great paint match, same 3M double side tape for install and was very happy. The material was semi soft and bendable/ply-able material that allowed it to be mounted to one side of the rear wind and bend to meet the concour of the window as it was installed. Photos to follow

Just a few hints for mounting these:
place the spoiler in the sun or a warm location to make it plyable Goes without saying, but trial fit it. Make sure the ends are were you want as well as the placement front to back. Remove the protective tape film from one side - only a few inches. Once you stick it - you are committed. Stick just the end down and angle the protective cover away and start laying/pulling the film off. Use your finger and the trunk edge to space the spoiler as you move. So, pull tape, push down a few inches, pull tape, pull down.... Go back over the complete spoiler when done pressing with your full weight, it takes a few minutes for a complete bond to happen. If you have to pull it up -plan on going and buying some more tape. Take your time though - you don't want to have to do this twice |

Thanks Lurcher. Nice find. I too just ordered one. I too will have to wait until April to install it. For $36.99 painted you cannot go wrong.

Rear spoiler
Also bought on of these for my Safire black 35is. Easy to put on but remember to wipe down the area it goes on with alcohol to remove all traces of wax to help it stick better.

All great tips but I will add another option.
I measured and made a mark on dead center of the lip with a pencil. I then did the same on the trunk. I started in the center of the trunk. I cut the tape in the center then pulled back 4" in both directions leaving the tape at an angle. I then lined up the line I made on the lip with the line on the trunk using my finger to space the placement with the trunk edge. Once you have the center set you can then slowly pull and stick one side at a time. Take your time!! no reason to hurry. Both ways will work so use what seems best for you. Like the others said, make sure you clean the area with some alcohol so the tape has a clean surface. Longboard Quote:

Thx for the mounting tips, guys. I may buy closer to Spring. In the meantime, if anyone is getting one that is *not* color-matching, lemme know!
