Rear roll bar
Just out of curiosity, are the rear roll bars on the e89 designed to go up in case of a roll-over situation, or are they stationary? Can't seem to find anything on that in the manual or the internet.

From memory, a roll over detection fires a retracting seatbelt mechanism that pulls you down into the seat. That, combined with the roll over rear hoops and windscreen hoop should prevent, provided you don't have an orange on a toothpick head, you from too much damage.
I'd worry more about the roof being up rather than down, as I've no idea what all those pieces of mechanism would do in a roll over, disintegrate and fly about the cabin or crumple and crush your head probably. Nice topic this. |
