Personally, I'd keep the stock wheel instead of those.

There would need to be a big weight advantage for me to switch

Wheels are such a subjective thing. I'd never purchase a set without seeing them on a similar/same model as mine or at least on a graphic interface Tire Rack uses on their site. It's hard to answer the OP's question for that very reason. BTW nicknaz, as nice as BMW wheels tend to be, some of the low end stuff (like the base model Z4 17s) are nothing to write home about. If that's what he's on now, then the Borbets would be an improvement.

As stated wheels are very subjective for personal likes.
If you like them go for it.
For me I looked for over a year and at every corner found another set I liked moe then the last.
For me deep concave design was needed with an more open design then my OEM wheels.
I went with VMR710 silver in 18 inch.

V710 is a good choice BMWZ4RIDER I had those in the past and still one of my favorite wheels.

OP, the XRT is a nice looking split 5 spoke wheel, which is a design I happen to like (I have OEM style 326 on my Z4) .

As others have noted, wheel preferences are very personal - buy what you think looks good.

That's true.

Most of the Z4 I've seen here in socal have the style 296, 325 or 326 wheels so I forget that there are base model non staggered 17s out there

Like others said, wheels are really personal, and for me any of those 3 OEM styles I mentioned are preferable

Although these wheels are very similar to the ones that came with the car when I got it, they are still nothing special. They serve as a great back up set.

I prefer my other set in 20's.
