"Movement" in park - hmmm...

So finally getting a chance to spend some quality time with the car and noticed when sitting in the garage, level ground - after idling for 1-2 minutes, the car seems to start moving forward about 1/2 inch, then rolls back. This continues till shut off or put in gear (it's an automatic).

Only other way to describe it is trying to push a car that is in park and then having it roll back against the pushing (very subtle rocking). I had to get out and watch it- just to make sure it was not my mind playing tricks on me.

Seems like the tranny is trying to engage and then meets resistance, or the computer telling it "no - I'm in park".....

Thoughts? Car was just back from dealer, did it before they had it as well but they didn't mention anything in the codes

That IS weird.. definitely not something I've experienced in my car...

At most, I get one movement if I hit park, let off the brake, then pull up the parking brake.

Do you leave the car parked without setting the parking brake?

I know on torque converter autos sometimes there is a failure (a pin or something) if the car is repeated put into park on an incline without the parking brake set and I wonder if this could be related to that issue?

Never set the brake, as I'm on a completely level surface. It's not a extreme rocking motion, quite subtle actually. I'll try to post a video later today...
